Ingredients


4 pork chops, cleaned and trimmed (4 oz. each)
1 tbsp. olive oil
1 red onion, chopped
12 mushrooms, quartered
1 green pepper, cubed
19 oz. canned tomatoes, drained and diced
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp. wine vinegar
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1 tbsp. hot pepper sauce
2 tbsp. honey
1/2 cup vegetable broth
1/4 tsp. thyme, ground
1 tsp. dry basil

Sweet and Sour Pork Chops


Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Sear both sides of the pork chops in a frying pan with the olive oil; set aside on an oven ready platter.

In the same frying pan, brown the onion, mushrooms and pepper for 5 min.  Pour onto the pork chops.

Again, in the same frying pan, add the tomatoes and the remaining ingredients.  Bring to a boil and pour over the meat.  Cook in the oven for about 1 hour, bushing the pork chops with the sauce frequently while cooking.
