Ingredients
1 large carrot, thinly sliced
2 tbsp. chopped onion
1 tbsp. water
1/2 lb. lean ground beef
1 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
2 tbsp. dry red wine
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. shredded cheddar cheese
Dash of garlic powder or Pepper (optional)

Savory Hamburger Soup
In a 1 qrt. casserole microwave sliced carrot and chopped onion, and
1 tbsp. water.
Cover and cook on High for 2 min.
Stir the ground beef into the partially cooked vegetables.
Microwave uncovered on High for 3 min. Stirring once to break up the
meat.
Drain off the fat.
Stir in tomato sauce, 1/2 cup water, dry red wine, sugar, salt, garlic
powder and pepper.
Microwave uncovered, on High for 4 to 5 min. more, or until mixture
is heated through and vegetables are tender.
Sprinkle with shredded Cheddar cheese and serve. |
