Ingredients

1/2 lb. butter
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
3 cups sifted flour
2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. soda

Yields about 8 dozen.

 Salem Cakes

Cream butter and brown sugar together until very creamy.
Stir in the well beaten eggs.
Measure flour and resift with nutmeg and soda.
Stir flour mixture gradually into butter mixture until well blended.
Chill for three hour of more.
Roll out ot 1/4 inch thickness.
Cut in desired shapes.
Bake about 8 min. at 350 degrees.
