Ingredients

2 cups light brown sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup lard
2 eggs
1/2 cup cocoa
2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup boiling water

 Dark Chocolate Cake

Cream together thoroughly the sugar, butter and lard.
Stir in the well beaten eggs and cocoa.
Sift together the flour, cream of tartar, and soda.
Add it alternately with sour cram to coca mixture.
Lastly, stir in the boiling water.
Pour into two greased 8 inch cake pans.
Bake for 35 min. at 325 degrees.
