Ingredients


1 1/4 cups sifted all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 squares melted unsweetened chocolate
1/2 cup undiluted Carnation
1/2 cup diced pecans

Makes 3 Dozen Cookies

Chocolate Peppermint Drops


Sift flour, soda and salt together.  Blend sugar, shortening, egg and vanilla until light and fluffy.  Add chocolate; mix well.  Add dry ingredients alternately with Carnation.  Mix until well blended.  Stir in pecans.  Drop on ungreased cookie sheet 2" apart.  Bake in moderate oven 375 degrees for 8 to 10 min.  Cool.
