Makes 4 Burgers

Recipe from Chatelaine Cook Book

Double Chili Burger

Drain the chilies.  Slice them in half, scrape off the seeds and finely chop.  Place the chilies in a large bowl along with the onion, garlic, ketchup, seasonings and Worcestershire sauce.  Stir in bread crumbs to help hold the burgers together if barbecuing.  Add the meat and work in with a fork or your hands until thoroughly blended.  Shape the mixture into 4 patties, about 4" wide and 3/4" thick.

Heat the oil and butter in a large frying pan over med. low heat.  Add the patties and sauté, uncovered, for 6 min. per side for med. rare burgers.  Don't press down or prick with a fork while they're cooking or you'll lose precious juices.
